Tool requirements and route selection

Loading a homepage does not guarantee that sign-in, generation, and file transfers will work. Here’s what to check for each tool. For supported regions, account access, and product rules, refer to the tool’s official documentation.

Tool × Route requirements
Tool Key network requirements Route guidance What to check first
ChatGPT Consistent sign-in exit route; uninterrupted streaming conversations IEPL dedicated line or a relay with a stable connection Account eligibility, service regions, authentication redirects, and generation APIs
Claude Check region detection, IP risk controls, and long-form data transfers Compare relay and dedicated routes based on actual connection performance Supported regions, browser sessions, and attachment upload paths
Gemini Consistent routing for Google accounts and related service domains A stable, persistent connection with consistent region and complete routing rules Account type, regional eligibility, and organization policies
Copilot Authentication, editor requests, and completion connections working together Low-jitter route; clearly defined proxy settings for plugins Distinguish Microsoft Copilot from GitHub Copilot
Midjourney Web or Discord sessions and image asset transfers A route that keeps both persistent connections and media loading stable Account permissions, task status, and asset domains
Cursor IDE sign-in, model requests, and streaming completions A relay or dedicated route the editor process can actually use Inherited proxy settings, model permissions, and editor diagnostics

For everyday use of ChatGPT and Claude, conversation continuity is often key. Navigation, chat history, and generation requests may use different domains. If one request takes an unexpected route, the page may load normally while responses remain stuck at the start. Test a complete conversation on your chosen route, then check long responses and attachments instead of judging by whether the homepage loads.

Gemini is closely tied to the broader account ecosystem. Network egress is only one factor in how a region is determined; account settings, product availability, and organization permissions may also affect access. Check Microsoft Copilot and GitHub Copilot separately: the former depends on the web or app you use, while the latter also involves editor extensions, code completion services, and organization authorization. Don’t assume that a connection result for one product applies to another.

Submitting a Midjourney task and displaying its images are separate steps. If a task has completed but its preview is blank, checking media requests is more useful than repeatedly submitting it. A successful Cursor sign-in in the browser doesn’t confirm that setup is complete either: the browser and editor may use different proxy settings. Verify in the editor that model requests are actually using the intended route.

Sign in and keep your region consistent

Check the tool’s own availability requirements before troubleshooting the connection. VPNGS accounts and third-party AI tool accounts are separate.

Before starting the account flow

Check the tool’s official supported regions and terms of use. Confirm that your account, organization, and intended features are eligible. A route that can carry requests does not automatically make an account eligible. If you encounter a region or account restriction, check the platform’s rules first instead of assuming every message indicates a network issue.

VPNGS doesn’t require an email address; create an account with a username and password. This applies only to VPNGS and doesn’t mean ChatGPT, Claude, or other tools use the same account process. Find the client and subscription options in the user panel. For connection instructions, see the getting started guide.

Authentication redirects and session persistence

Before signing in, select a region that meets the tool’s requirements, check your system clock and browser cookie settings, then complete the authentication flow. Keep routing consistent across the authentication page, callback, and product site wherever possible. Switching regions repeatedly during sign-in makes it harder to identify the cause of a failure and may trigger additional security checks.

If you encounter repeated verification prompts, sign-in loops, or expired sessions, stop retrying and save the error message. Check site data, extension conflicts, and connectivity to authentication domains. If you need to change routes, exit the current flow before starting again; don’t try to guess the platform’s risk controls by repeatedly switching exit routes.

Test web access and APIs separately

Streaming output needs an uninterrupted connection

AI responses often arrive in chunks over a stream, commonly through event streams or other persistent connections. A regular webpage loading only shows that short requests get a response. Interrupted long answers, stalled code completions, or missing output after generation starts may require checking packet loss, connection jitter, proxy timeouts, and local network changes. A route labeled as dedicated still needs to be tested in your actual setup.

Keep your network stable during conversations. Avoid switching networks or letting your device sleep while a response is generating. If short answers work but long ones often cut off, compare other routes in the same region and check timeout settings in the client and app. Note the original route type and symptoms before switching so you can tell what changed.

Web access doesn’t guarantee API access

Web apps typically rely on browser sessions, while APIs use credentials from a program to access separate endpoints. They may have different domains, account permissions, billing systems, and regional rules. If the browser works but your program fails, check whether it picks up the proxy, whether the API base URL is correct, and whether the project has permission and sufficient quota. Third-party tool charges are separate from a VPNGS route subscription.

With streaming APIs, a reverse proxy or application gateway in the middle may buffer responses, causing content to appear all at once after generation finishes. If your own service forwards requests, check response buffering, read timeouts, and how connections are closed. Network routes carry traffic; they can’t fix incorrect API parameters, model names, or invalid credentials, and they don’t replace application-level error handling.

Assess region, account, API permissions, and network transport separately. Don’t present a connection service as a guarantee of third-party account eligibility or availability.

Developer setups: configure by process

Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux are all supported platforms for this service. Whether an app uses the system proxy still depends on how that app is built.

Command line and SDKs

Terminal programs don’t necessarily inherit the browser’s proxy settings. Check the official documentation for your SDK or runtime to see whether it reads HTTPS_PROXY, HTTP_PROXY, and NO_PROXY, or requires proxy settings to be passed separately. Variable names alone don’t guarantee support in every program. The proxy protocol must also match the client’s listening address; use the details shown in the client.

Test the basic connection without sending application credentials, then check the API with a minimal request. Don’t disable certificate verification just to get connected; certificate errors call for checking the system clock, trust chain, and corporate network policies. Before sharing logs, remove keys, authorization headers, subscription details, and application data. Include only the error summary needed to diagnose the issue in a support ticket.

IDE plugins and remote development

Tools such as Cursor and GitHub Copilot may use the editor’s network layer, an extension host, or an external command-line program. After changing the system proxy, running processes may retain their old settings; reload them according to the app’s documentation. Check the extension diagnostics first, then determine whether the issue is authentication, model requests, or an interrupted completion stream.

Remote development requires distinguishing between your local computer and the remote execution environment. Signing in through a local browser doesn’t mean requests from a remote host, container, or subsystem use your local route. Identify which process sends the request, then configure an authorized network path for that environment. Otherwise, you may keep testing remote tasks after changing only your local settings.

CI and unattended jobs

CI runners have their own network egress, credentials, and execution permissions. A successful connection from your local client won’t change the route used by a hosted runner. Before automating, check that the platform and organization policies allow the use case, then configure networking using the options supported by the execution environment. This service’s supported platform list does not guarantee compatibility with every hosted CI environment.

Set reasonable timeouts, retries, and error handling for jobs. Don’t repeatedly retry permission errors. Store secrets using the execution environment’s credential management features; don’t put them in repositories, build artifacts, or debug output. Before retrying a generation task, consider that duplicate requests may incur third-party charges.

Common failures: troubleshoot by symptom

The homepage loads. Why can’t I generate a response?

Static homepage assets and generation APIs may use different routes. Check failed requests in the browser’s network panel, account permissions, and service status, then confirm that related domains are routed as expected. If the API returns a clear application error, address that first rather than assuming it’s a route issue.

Responses stop halfway through. Do I need a different plan?

Check your remaining data first, then distinguish between a network interruption, an app timeout, and the platform finishing generation. If you have enough data, upgrading your data tier won’t directly resolve connection jitter. Keep your device’s network unchanged, compare other routes in the same region, and check whether the client or gateway is closing persistent connections prematurely.

How can I tell why a region is unsupported or access is denied?

Read the exact error first, then check the tool’s official regional availability and account requirements. IP geolocation databases, exit IP reputation, account details, and organization policies may all affect the decision. Switching routes doesn’t guarantee a different result from the platform. If the connection works but your account isn’t eligible, contact the tool’s official support channel.

Why do the terminal or IDE time out when the website works?

Check whether the process making the request reads the proxy settings, whether a remote environment has its own egress, and whether DNS resolution and certificate verification work. Don’t use browser results to infer command-line connectivity. Start with a basic request that includes no credentials, then test the required API and streaming response.

What if I see a rate limit, insufficient quota, or no model access?

These messages usually call for checking your third-party account, project quota, concurrency settings, and product authorization. Pause or adjust jobs as the platform requires, and avoid continuous automatic retries. A route subscription won’t increase a third-party tool’s quota or provide access to its paid models.

To check your VPNGS connection, submit the tool name, platform, route type, and a brief error summary through a user panel support ticket. Don’t include account passwords, API keys, or full subscription URLs.

Choose cross-border routes by use case

For ongoing conversations, prioritize stability

Use an exit route that performs consistently in a region supported by the tool. When comparing an IEPL dedicated line with a relay, check whether authentication, long responses, and attachments all work instead of relying on the route label. Direct connections also depend on your local network and time of day. Confirm the right setup by testing the full workflow.

For development requests, consider the environment and data use

First make sure your command-line tool, IDE, or remote process uses the right route. Then choose a data plan based on file transfers, image assets, and everyday usage. Monthly plans are ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date; mid-cycle upgrades are prorated for the remaining days.

For occasional use, compare data packs: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. Data remains available until used and never expires. This service supports unlimited devices, Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT, and a 14-day no-questions-asked refund. Check third-party AI tool accounts, authorization, and fees separately.
